The Eranian Empire is the brain-child of Robert Warr, who initially conceived of it while walking to and from school in the 1970s.
He has always had a love of science fiction, and devised a future history where the discovery of jump-drive technology enabled humanity to spread out from the over-populated Earth and establish itself in the surrounding universe, creating what became known as the Eranian Empire, alongside the Terran Union and other civilisations.
As his creation took shape, he sought for ways to further develop his ideas and, this being the early days of Role-Playing Games, decided to devise rules for a game based on his ideas. When he examined the market, however, he came across a system called Traveller, which embodied most of what he wanted, so he used its rule-set alongside the context he'd developed.
Over many years, he refined and developed a rich history and large cast of characters, aided and abetted by the friends who played the scenarios and campaigns that he created.
In the early 2000s, one of those friends, Paul Sims, began documenting those adventures, eventually converting them into books, three of which have been published to date, with two more in the pipeline.
